The Crisbecq battery, an essential D-Day site, offers a tour of its 22 underground blockhouses, restored to their original state. It was here that the first cannon shot was fired at dawn on June 6, 1944. Explore a veritable complex of trenches and tunnels, including an anti-aircraft command post, a kitchen, ammunition bunkers, barracks, an infirmary, a Tobruk and casemates. Don’t miss the famous Saint Marcouf guns, which made this battery the most powerful on the D-Day beaches. Located near Utah Beach and Sainte-Mère-Église, it is a key stop on the D-Day circuit.
