The Manoir de Cleronde is a listed 17th-century historic monument. Built in 1639 by Sieur de Fremont, a local judge. Then bought in 1893 by Baron Gérard as a hunting lodge (Baron Maurice Gérard is the nephew of the famous painter François Gérard). The manor has remained in the family ever since. Luxuriously renovated, it includes a barn and horse stud, overlooking flower-filled parkland and a pond and lake within the 800-acre private estate, which includes a 40-hectare forest and 200 English racehorses. The manor house was a home for French refugees during the Second World War.
